well as far as know it means that you are downloading the video which is a big file so that would mean that the download would still happen but the % wouldn't increase hope that helped.

Just run the game with the -image command line argument before bed and let it download the whole thing overnight. The in-game loading tends to be fidgety, easier to download all the assets in one setting.

Or, better yet, just burn the GW.dat file to a DVD or copy it to a thumb drive and transfer the entire thing that way. Save yourself the bandwidth.

How big is your .dat, Just Sai?
For reference, mine are 4.13 GB (4,437,948,592 bytes) and 3.73 GB (4,008,943,291 bytes). The second is a secondary account that only gets played on Nick days
Actually, as a test I'm gonna image myself a new one right now...

You know, I've never had that issue. Are you sure your connection didn't just cut out in the middle of the night and leave you with a bunch more content to download?

Finished re-imaging the second one - 3.72 GB (3,997,745,664 bytes)
Hmm, interesting. Only 400MB different, but still...

Then you did something wrong. I am 100% certain after repeated trials (8 or 9 I can't remember if I did it on one of them or not) on multiple different computers.
On average I tend to see a difference of 250-350 MB...nothing close to your 1.5 GB
did it again last night an compared the 2.
Original: 4,014,228,480 bytes
New: 3,997,834,752 byes
Not exactly a huge difference.

actually in retrospect it was before the servers were moved which could well be a contributing factor.
regardless, it wasn't just me, could have even been a localized issue, who knows.
although i stand by my statement i withdraw all input and sign off with a high five.

never had a problem with -image. Always run the image shortcut before the game. You may get unlucky and get a new update while running the image command, and then have to run it again.
It's a pity GW isn't able to run the game with -image in the command line. Would save me one mouse click!

You can just create a small program (Or find one) that will run gw with -image and then with any other desired command line arguments after that. I wrote my own just for this.

Why go to such lengths? Right-click the desktop/menu shortcut icon, copy, paste, right-click, properties, tack on -image to the command line, save. Works perfectly on Windows and Linux (wine).
